She's Got the Look is an original reality series which premiered on June 4, 2008 with six back-to-back episodes on TV Land, a channel originally created to showcase classic TV shows. According to the TV Land website, twenty women compete to become the next great supermodel 35 years or older. Hosted by supermodel Kim Alexis, She’s Got the Look sets out to give one woman a second chance at a modeling career. Celebrity judges Beverly Johnson, Robert Verdi, and Sean Patterson dwindle down the cast of twenty until they find the one who has ‘the look.’ The winner receives a lucrative modeling contract with the world famous Wilhelmina Models, Inc and a photo spread for Self.
The remaining models jet set to Miami for their final two photo shoots and must walk the runway with professional Wilhelmina models at a fashion show. In the end, one model is named the winner of 'She's Got the Look.'
The remaining contestants receive help from model and TV personality Beth Ostrosky in a competition in which they portray TV hosts, and a second challenge finds them cast as spies in a scene from an action movie.
The series, which is hosted by Kim Alexis, is a collaboration with Wilhelmina Models Inc., and sets out to discover a sophisticated, beautiful and confident woman over the age of 35 destined to become the next "it" girl of the fashion industry. In addition to a contract with Wilhelmina Models Inc., and a photo spread in SELF magazine, this season's winner will also receive a check for $100,000.
The contestants mental and physical limits will be put to the test when their challenge helps them confront their biggest fears.
Stylist and contest judge Robert Verdi takes the women on a shopping trip after assessing their wardrobes, and the contestants learn the finer points of "mannequin modeling." Fashion guru Fern Mallis is a guest judge.
Contests include a revealing photo shoot in extreme weather conditions in New York City's Central Park and an elimination challenge involving trampolines. Supermodel Frederique is a guest judge.
After facing criticism from casting agents, the contestants take part in their first elimination challenge: a glamorous photo shoot. Supermodel Rachel Hunter is a guest judge.
In the second-season opener, 20 would-be models age 35 and over are selected as semifinalists, but the first challenge, which takes place on the runway, will determine which women will remain in New York in search of a lucrative contract.
